From time to time, now and
then, every so often (get the picture?) big plain records
organizes a showcase for its recording artists and other
celtic musicians. Here is what's coming up and what went
before. Chulrua - Oct 13 & 16th On Oct 13th there is a ceili at Garden in the Heights.For more information read the press release here. On October 16th they will play a concert in Clear Lake. Details here. Album release party - June 15, 1999 For more information read the press release here. The first big plain concert took place on January 5th 1999 at Fitzgerald's club in Houston. (Concert Scrapbook) Featured musicians were Colleen Donahue(cittern), Sheila Boylan(fiddle), Ruairi Boylan(flute) and Turlach Boylan(flute). All these musicians are featured on the susequent release by big plain records of a solo flute album by Turlach Boylan. Sheila and Ruairi are members of the Gleann an Iolair Ceili Band whose album of music for Irish Set Dancing, The Derry Boat, is available in the USA from big plain records and online at www.bandstore.com.
